Main Description
| Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) may be part of te project team or referred by the project team to provide expert information,
advice and consulting on the business or technology subject in question. At First Niagara, SMEs partner with project teams
to provide expert consulting and information on business and technology topics. |
Staffing
| Assignment Approaches | SMEs should be assigned based on their familiarity with the subject matter. As they are received as the expert in a
particular area, the manager should consider the best resource factoring in all business-related, operational,
administrative, and project-related issues. It may be compelling to assign the best expert; however, management should be
careful in prioritizing business needs and project needs to ensure all aspects of that resource's assignment have been
considered and business and proejct risks are weighed accordingly. |
