      Main Description
A definition of the final version of the process, the Future State Process, by applying to the original defined process, a definition of any improvements that can be made to the current process by locating any race conditions, analyzing the roles and tasks involved, and making note of any changes in tools or technology used throughout the process.
      Steps
      Define sequence

Domain processes are seldom sequential. For parallel processes, define the sequence of events and locate any race conditions. Race conditions are when two steps are running simultaneously and come together to result in a third step. The third step can only begin once the required information from the previous two steps have completed. If the sequence step completion is important for the third step, what governors are in place to ensure the second step does not complete early?

      Locate duplication of effort
Locate duplication of effort on tasks and work products by analyzing any tasks that are performing similar outputs or producing similar results.
      Identify role discrepencies
Recognize if there are too many or too few involved in the process.
      Identify task discrepencies
Recognize if there is not enough, or too much scope per a specific role.
Recognize if there are not enough, or too many tasks per a specific role.
Recognize any changes in tools or technology used throughout the process
Changes in tools and technologies often times improve efficiencies, therefore it's important to identify changes in process that will utilize the new tools and technologies.
Confirm improved process with Subject Matter Experts
Ensure SME's concur and buy in to the process improvements.
      Draft Future State Process

Record the future state of the domain process and content.
