Develop the schedule of activities for this project or program.

The project schedule can be developed either in detail or with attention to levels of detail. Often, the project manager or project coordinator develops high-level project activities and then works with team members to detail the schedule based on feedback from the team, stakeholders, development of requirements and/or the technical design.
Steps
Define high-level major activities
Identify milestones
For each section of the schedule, begin to detail the activities
Define assignees for each activity
For each activity, define the need-by date, or amount of a resource that will be applied to the task
If using automatic scheduling, ensure the enddate of the each milestone, and/or the project is amicable to the stakeholder's needs
Gain consensus from the stakeholder
Communicate the schedule to the affected teams
