Guideline: Phase Gate Risk Acceptance & Avoidance

Inspector should be keenly aware of unmitigated risks flowing from Phase Gates into Execution and/or Production. The Inspector Analyst will have provided a Finding Report illustrating all known and unmitigated Process and Technical Risks. Inspector must insure all unmitigated risks are resolved by executive stakeholders in one of the following way. The executive stakeholders may accept a risk and its consequences by letting it flow into the next phase and/or production. The executive stakeholder may avoid risk by re-scoping or eliminating the offending elements causing the risk. The executive stakeholders may also share risk by providing insurance or monitoring.
